Privacy policy
This policy describes how the private Quokkanut Backup integration uses Google Drive data.
Service scope
Quokkanut Backup is an owner-operated infrastructure service. It has no public user registration. Its sole purpose is to store and verify encrypted disaster-recovery backups for the Quokkanut platform.
Google data accessed
The integration requests the Google Drive drive.file permission. This
permission allows it to create, read, update, and delete only the Drive files and folders
created through this application. It does not request broad access to unrelated files in the
account.
How data is used
Google Drive access is used only to upload, synchronize, integrity-check, and restore-test Quokkanut's encrypted backup repository. Google user data is not used for advertising, profiling, analytics, or training artificial-intelligence models.
Storage and security
Backup contents are encrypted before leaving the production server. The repository encryption key is stored separately from both the server backup repository and Google Drive. OAuth credentials are restricted to the production host administrator and stored in a root-only configuration file.
Sharing and disclosure
Google user data and OAuth credentials are not sold, rented, or shared with third parties. Data may be processed by Google Drive solely as the selected storage provider and as governed by the account owner's Google agreement.
Quokkanut Backup's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
Retention and deletion
Encrypted backup snapshots are retained under Quokkanut's operational recovery schedule. Superseded repository data is removed during backup pruning and subsequent synchronization. The account owner may revoke access at any time through Google Account permissions and may delete the application-created Drive folder.
